Can I just say that I am sorry that I didn't see the sticker on your number plate that unless I'm mistaken tells the world 'I am off duty plod' until you took the lead.

I assume you must have been involved in a high speed chase at the time......

What type of sticker is that then??
And how do you know ?

Im sure a Black Mickey Mouse sticker doesnt always mean what you think it means???
OR anyone having an IPA Sticker (not the alcoholic drink either)
And from experience ... having a sticker doesnt make you invisible either...IF you ride like a dangerous fool YOU will get pulled...No matter if you have your whole bike plastered with them.... Or so I am told !

Not that I would know anything about these alledged mickey mouse stick on badges ..... Or where to get them :-0)

A guy who is a volunteer at the railway, works for North Wales Police, he is one of thier advanced driving instructors, training recruits at speeds of up to 160mph I believe......

He was caught in his private car doing 36 in a 30 @Broughton....

Yes he got the fine and had to go on the driver awareness, to say I was pissing myself when he told me this is an understatement...

Well thats a load of bollocks cause anyone who knows me will tell you that I'm as mad as everyone else and if you want a fast ride, I'm yer man.

So get off the coppers case and move on.

Evryone has 'perks of the job'. Plumbers get free plumbing, Sparkies get free wiring, chippies - well you get the idea so whats wrong with our little perk.If you want it, get off yer ass and join up, otherwise shut the fuck up.

Are you genuine? If so, does the word 'hypocrisy' exist in your world?

Police who think like this give the other 10% a bad name.

Whilst I agree that Allan's comment is daft (albeit tongue in cheek) you really are an insufferable bore. 10%? Grow up. Do you ever post on any thread other than those with an "anti-police" theme? I think I will just put you back on my ignore list.

Tongue in cheek???????, I'm being serious !!!

I mean, whats the job worth if there arent a few little perks like:

Free travel on public transport when in uniform,
Free travel on public transport when not in uniform by flashing a warrant card.
Free admission into clubs by flashing a warrant card,

(However, you are expected to dive in and sort out any trouble while having the perk - unlike Joe public who'll hide in the corner till its all over)

Discount on insurance when informing them of your advanced driving grade - even if we do go blatting around the countryside at warp factor 9 along with every other biker - who then slag the police off for breaking the speed limit even though they are happy to do it themselves and see nothing wrong with it.

So yea, bring on the perks, or are they really worth it? :dunno:

Well said Allan:bow::bow:
The 'card' is not a passport to freedom..... And if caught breaking ANY law it carries a much heavier penalty!
The pro's and con's of ANY profession we all do... make us all different !

Im certain some people choose their profession because of the 'freebies' they may get ......... Of course not ! ! ! (that is.. apart from MPs)

"I know I will become a copper because I can drive fast and not get caught" is the words from a young person in a careers office.
Or maybe "I know I will be a plumber so I can fix leaks in my families house!"

These are hardly deal breakers when you choose a career !

The off duty Policeman is NEVER off duty !
and with all the hassle the Police get now from the politcal correctness brigade and "I know my rights" crew .... I would not want to be a Policeman now for all the tea in China !

Hats off to all Police ....I say !

I have to say that if you did some of these in my force you would find yourself as a civilian pretty quickly. The free bus travel is pretty widespread as the companies want the additional policing but, as you say, you are expected to jump in and deal with any problems. Having said that I would anyway.
The insurance is based on competence so fair enouigh.

Free entry to licensed premises would be seen as a conflict of interests here and you would get stuck on, went years ago around here.

Flashing a warrant card to get off something? I wouldn't put a colleague in that position.

Tis true what Buzz says.

Whilst all Bobbies will claim "once off duty - stay off duty" - it's part of the personal discipline drilled into them - to uphold law and order and I honestly doubt that any policeman would turn away from a proper crime being committed and walk the other way

In all the years I've known, ridden and socialised with Buzz, I've only ever ONCE seen him flash his "Plastic Warrant Card" in anger - that was at a bloke outside a pub in Pembrokeshire when his Jack Russell tried to bite Buzz's leg and he politely asked the bloke to keep his dog under control - "Or what?" was the reply - then Buzz flashed the "medal"

Many a time though I've seen Buzz get free blow jobs just by flashing his "plastic police card" - the rent boys never seemed to mind though - they just said "Hi Allan - same as usual?"

I've seen him blag hotels rooms in Spain, meals in 5 Star restaurants, copious amounts of malt whisky - petrol refills - al manner of goodies

The joys of having a piece of Police Plastic d34ld34l

Mind you - I've got one myself :-0)
