my only concern with not using the subchannels is that it will get busy in built up areas and you will end up with squelch noise in your lug oils and the tesco trolly boys bombing you out fl4g71 Personally I would go with a subchannel as well for the Bird group rides ..:dunno:

Not a problem for me but some of the cheaper units dont have sub channels and the higher end ones have a bloody awkward bleep system for setting up

Right result for me then.. I do not have sub tomes even on the expensive rigs.. ahh I have them on one of them .. An Alinco dual bander.. I know that will go on the PMR frequencys but methings folk would get a bit miffed if I use that.. With 5k deviation I would be able to talk on ALL the channels at once, and with 50 watts up the stick I would piss folk off for about 30 miles ..
