First point if call would be the wires going to the back of the ignition switch…they have been known to corrode and fall off.

Presumably you have checked all the fuses including the main fuse - latter hidden under a rubber boot on the left side around your knee somewhere from memory. Obviously if a fuse has blown you need to find out why…..if the main has gone my bet would be the diode in the reg/rec has given up. Happened to me once, albeit on an FI.

Keep posting….

ps check the fuses out of the bike as you can get false positives in the holder. Trust me on that!!

Above assumes there was no prior warning of anything wrong…

The first question after finding that out, is why did it blow?

I checked the main fuse and it's blown.
Stick another one in, disconnect the reg rec and see what happens when you try and start it. If it doesn’t blow again as above the diode has probably fried in the reg/rec. In which case a new reg/rec wil be needed I’m afraid.

I’ll wager 20p that’s the problem.

Yes it was OK when I unplugged the reg, so it's a new regulator which is not the end of the world, thanks for your replies.
