Just noticed this morning...that My old carbie bird seems to smoke alot more out
of one exhaust than the other!!!
Why is this? I can feel exhaust gases coming out of both cans (Standard Honda Items) ,but only one shows lots of condensation on a cold morning..Bike seems to run fine..I have had a quick feel around the header joints and where the cans join the collector for leaks but cant feel anything untoward.
Anyone else noticed this with their bikes??

Which side...…………….
Condensation may collect more on left side if bike is parked on the side stand.

Seem to,remember this being mentioned before and it wasn't an issue.

Unless it really is smoke...in which case your engine is about to explode, probably taking your legs off.

Isnt blue smoke or oily smell...just the condensation that you get on a cold morning....never noticed it
during the warmer weather...

It’s normal. The collector box favours one side more than the other.

To add to what is already a fascinating thread :p how many have noticed that there is a drain hole in each of the standard silencers to let condensation out?

Exhaust gasses, like water and electricity, takes the easiest route

Starting from the top, four pipes, go in to the collector, two on top two on the bottom
All are joined in the collector.
Two outlets from the collector, one goes straight into a silencer ( the right one ) and the the other ( and this is the important bit ) comes out the collecctor box into a 90 degree bend to the left, across the bike , into a 99 degree bend to the left and finally in to the left hand silencer.
So not only does the gas have to negotiate two right angle bands but has further to travel.

Hence, the right one smokes when it’s cold and as a matter of interest, the left one runs cooler
