Anyone else remember the days before forums..?
The days when you joined a 'news group', logged on the interweb with you 4k modem, down loaded the days activity then logged off..
Read what you wanted to read, made comments, logged back on and uploaded to the newgroup...

How things have changed !

This was the second forum I joined, out of a total of four. I haven’t been on the Skoda forum in ten years; I’m on another bike forum but only log in maybe once a month; and, I’m on a watch forum.

I was never on a news group.

I remember the days of going to the local bikers pubs and actually talking to fellow bikers...about bikes.

noobie

Clueless in most things
before forums, word of mouth about regular bike meets or even looking in the comic for regular bike meets in my area.

My first home PC had a 14,400 modem and the unmistakable tones and screeches when it connected .....

Long before that it was cassette tapes or spend ages typing code in

Those were the good old days !

My first internet dealings involved an A500 Amstrad.. A 14k connection was a pipe dream..I remember spending a weeks wages on a hard drive that had less capacity than a CD !

You've tagged my post as bad spelling. Are you drunk?

If it's the 'sixpence' post my end shows it as 'funny'.

You need to convert to Apple...

No, it's the thread where I've written "This was the second forum I joined, out of a total of four. I haven’t been on the Skoda forum in ten years; I’m on another bike forum but only log in maybe once a month; and, I’m on a watch forum.

I'm quite widely known as this forum's biggest Apple fan boy and have been for years. You need to get checked for the onset of dementia.
