LOL No sorry about the yes no bit, just in that kind of mood!!:-0)
In answer to your question, the answer is no, it IS a real pig to set up :bang: and get everything as it should be, and in MY particular case the switches "just" touch the loose fitting tank cover, NOT the tank, and I can and do use the bag with it with no problems, the angle of the bars is very different to standard as well as being slightly more "up" and back at you, giving a "Bandit" type seating position.:dunno:

I've just done the straight bar conversion.@tu*

Robbo is right :yo:, its a right twat to set up the correct angle for the bars.

Dont cut off the ends as it says in the instructions. You need this for the adjustment of the brake and clutch levers. If you cut it the banjo bolts snag on the top of the forks leaving no room for adjustment and they are in my opinion too high for a comfortable grip on the lever.

Get yourself a new clutch hose and some new throttle cables made up 30mm longer than standard. This will save you a lot of headache fitting.:bang:

The ride is more upright than standard and in my opinion more comfortable, but you are still slightly leaning forward onto the bars (unless your arms are 3 foot long).

The new set up doesn't interfere with the fairing at all but I have a double bubble screen and I had to cut and shape this to stop the kill switch turning off on sharp left handers and the headlights going onto full on right turns.

Anyway if they touch anything then its an MOT fail, I have been told.

Finally, leave yourself an good day to do the work..get some valium and good luck.

Oh yes.. and make sure where ever you store your bike it has a larger than normal door...mine fits just..only just. The new set up is wider than standard..I'd say 2" either side.

I will be taking some pics of the bike over the week end and will post when I can

Hope this is of some use to you and others thinking of taking the plunge.

Can I ask were your original bars std or on risers ?
Reason I ask is I bought a straight bar conversion but found the riding position little different than using risers only the wrist angle improved but reach was about the same.

My straight bars are on to the forks "no risers" I found on a few birds I've done twisting them in the holders sometimes helped, the riding position is so different to match it against one with no straight bars is a lot pointless, in my case "and many others" riding the bike with a "bandit" type mentality makes the graduation from dropped bars to straight easier, that said although riding the bike becomes easier "IMHO" to shove the thing around if your a short arse like me can become a bit more of a pain, but hopefully you will spend more time riding it than shoving it.
