Badly oxidised wheels

    So how do you restore these wheels - without taking them off ?

    A scrub with a scorchbite pad and (dare I say it) WD40 might be worth a go.

    Otherwise get a polishing kit off eBay ............

    Just my opinion but without taking them off anything you do will be just a bodge & wont last as you are bound to miss some bits & the whole process will start again

    So take them off scrub them back with wet or dry (grade dependant on how bad they are) finish with a scotch pad on any bare ally, paint & lacquer the whole lot, they should end up something like this

    My second Bird had polished rims - as I used the bike in all weathers I was dubious how they would fare but they were fine.

    And yes, I did wipe them over with WD40 when the bike got it's biannual wash.

    Behave, I wouldn't take YTS wages back in the day & am not about to start now !
