B.I.R.D. - IXXRA

Been a member of both forums since about Christmas and enjoy the banter on both. But why can I access IXXRA from work but not B.I.R.D.

The IT nazis have a filter that blocks all unsuitable material from our PC's but IXXRA gets through, B.I.R.D. doesn't.

One thing I've noticed different about the forums is that although IXXRA probably has more good natured banter and slaggin than B.I.R.D. all the profanity is purpously misspelt. Not always the case on here.

Just wondered if the filter is picking up the odd slip.

Before anyone jumps down my throat I'm not taking sides. It would just be nice to see what's happening here when things are quite at work.

Of course it could be feck all to do with the swaring.

It could possibly be picking up BIRD and associating it with porn :dunno:

it may be because of Cookies

When you log onto BIRD a small cookie is placed onto the users system [quiet harmless] - it's a way of remembering you so that you don't have to re-enter user name and password every time you vist.

May be that your work system doesn't allow cookies?

When you're at home, clear cookies from internet options/control panel - then relog back in BUT make sure that the "Remember Me" box is UNTICKED

Then try again at work - may do the trick

As this forum is completely unregulated, the only word that is in the filter is that which refers to vaginal regions and ebay scammers .. a word found in the middle of Sc u n thorpe..

When I set it up I used this criteria.
If I hear a word regularly on television then its plenty good enough for here !

Websense blocks B.I.R.D. on my work computer (says "Message Boards And Clubs" are filtered) but allows me to access IXXRA. I can only think it's because B.I.R.D. has vBulletin (Board) in it's title and Websense is picking it up. :dunno:

I think that's it. Had a good scoure around today and it is protected by websence and does block message boards clubs and forums but for some reason doesnt recognise IXXRA (and BCF as it happens) as forums but does B.I.R.D.
BTW I wasn't having a go about swearing (as anyone that's met me can vouch)
but just wondered why I could't tune in at work
