several dealers offering a pair at around GBP 145 inc VAT and delivery.

They're supposed to be a big improvement on the Azaro 2's (fookin better be from what's been said on this forum!!) and are now based on a Silica compoud like the best of the rest.

Anyone tried them yet or heard anything about them?

Hi Amsterdam, yes I am using Azaro ST46's after some initial problem's with Avon, which have been sorted out very satisfactorily I think these tyre's are the duck's nut's, let me explain, I have had the Dunlop's :puke: , and I have had the Bridgestone 010's and 020's.
I thought the 020's were great and went to get the same fitted again, but alas none in stock, so having just read a good write up on Avon Azaro's I thought I would give them a go, WOW on the way home I had my knee down !!, high speed stability had improved dramatically (no speed wobble above 170) and as for mileage, well I knew I had a new tyre coming from Avon so I tried to destroy the one I had, no tyre I have ever owned has lasted me more than 3000 miles, this one did 5000 rolling burnout's included  .
The only thing I will say is, they carry 20% more tread than any other tyre and the tread pattern is very blocky, this can be felt through the bike when pulling away or at very low speed's but this is a small price to pay.
Not to bad in the wet either.

Thanks Pete....

The Azaro3's are temptingly cheap but I think I'd be mad to buck the trend - 020 Rear with 011E front is the way to go I reckon. So many folk on the forum (inc. You) luv the combo and the reviews I've read usually put the Batllaxes near the top or even way out in front.

Oh-so I fancy smokin the old Conti - tell me your technique for the rollin burnout - I've done standing burnouts, feet down, front brake on, 1st, loads a revs and drop the clutch - so when the tyres lit up do you just sit down and ease off the front brake???

Yep or stand up on the peg's, that way you can keep more weight forward, try to find a bit of road without too much camber, when the rear end light's up it's a bit like riding on ice  , have fun :D
