bloody jinxed myself

shit !!! there i was saying how the front tyre never let me down when "bang" 55mph on the east lancs coming to work this morning, the fooking thing went pop on me !!!! can't understand how or why until i got the front wheel off, gaping hole in the centre of the tyre. ( not being a drama queen here, it was big !) but fair play to sharples in bolton, rang them up ( as they supply all our tyres) and explained what had happened, to which they replied " if there is more than 2.4mm on 80 % of the tyre, you will have it replaced free of charge under avons tyre warranty" fooking bonus !!! saved myself ?90. so needless to say, bird is up on paddock stands outside shop, wheel off, new member of staff in car on way with my wheel to sharples. so yes, i do still feel wary of the tyres in regards to lack of grip, but to have a puncture, get it replaced ( only once mind you) under warranty, and all i pay is ?5 fitting, then i guess it has to be said what a cracking bargain from avon !!!!!!
and ozcrow, your right mate, listen to other peoples experiences, make your own minds up. this thread is full of conflicting experiences with these tyres. some love me, some hate em, personally, i have already said how i feel about them, but just for the warranty alone they offer a tempting deal !

well after 2 hours I have finally decided that

1. as a young un of 33 then I must class mesen as a newbie rider even though I have covered 25K in last 4 years :dunno:
2. Bun fights rule ok
3. Each to there own, espeically when it comes to tyres :neenaw:
4. I will be in the %$fanfor starting this again
5. :bang: Jaws still got his pair of avons for sale :bow:

Yippeeeeeeeeee the thread is back I was wondering when this thread would pop up again,gives me a chance to say that after running a pair of michelin pilot sports and at ?105.75 a pair fitted prolly will never go back to the Avon's for winter riding again.
May try a pair of 49/50s though as no one seems to have an issue with these in the wet.

Thought I'd just say in favor of avon's that for the summer anyway I'm going to get another set fitted next week
cos the birds eating these pilot sports 2k from the rear where the avon was going 5k plus
