Avon Tyres Warranty ????

Anybody had to try the Avon Tyre Road Hazard Warranty ??

Apparently, when you buy a pair of the Avon Azaro's, Avon give some sort of warranty that says if you puncture them or damage them accidently in the first X amount of miles they will replace the damaged tyre free of charge.

Cleaning the 'Bird on Saturday..... and I notice a feckin' great nail right through the rear tyre in the centre of the tread. The tyre has only done 500 or so miles. :mad:

So ......anybody know how this warranty thing works ???? :dunno:

Cheers peeps.

I think if you take it back and its not repairable (You are allowed 1 repair on a VR rated tyre) then it will be replaced, but I think you pay a percentage of what tread has been used, 500 miles, no wear, new tyre FOC. 50% tread gone you pay 50% cost of new tyre, thats as I see it.

1200 Pete is the best one to ask, he deals with em.

I have to get a new rear in the next few weeks, and will be getting an Avon from Pete, seing as they have such good reviews.

Avon tyres

As I recall Avon will replace a road damaged tyre, such as a nail through it, if you have not used more than 1mm. of tread. Contact Avon and they tell you to take the tyre to a dealer they will specify so that the dealer can verify that the tyre has less than 1mm. wear and Avon will replace it free of charge. Though in my case it took a few days, but it did happen.
Could take Floozy66's advice and contact 1200 Pete as that's where i got my tyres from.

All the best
8ree! it was 4deg. C up here in June one morning.

Thanks for the info, both !! :bow:

I bought the tyres from Pete at the Ally Pally Show in February....but didn't get around to having them fitted until recently. My only concern was Avon were going to say "take the bike back to the original fitting centre and let them deal with it"......obviously that would be a problem as I bought the tyres from one place and had them fitted by a mobile guy at my home.

I'll let you know what Avon say.

and i bet , you picked the nail up about 10 ft from home as well, is always the feckin case.

You're probably right Andy.....there's a load of building work going on at the end of our road and the shite that falls off of the skip trucks coming and going to the site has to be seen to be believed.

The bloody builders park their vans all over the show.....block the garage doors.....people visiting the 'show houses' leave their motors across the driveway.....poxy place to live !!!!!!!! :rant:

Hell......I'm ranting.....and it's only Monday !!!!!!! I'm off to hug a tree !!!!! :}

So.....it seems you need to locate an Avon tyre dealer in your area, call him and make arrangements to take the bike to him. He then measures the tread depth and as long as it's within a specified limit he supplies a new tyre free of charge. Fitting the tyre is at the customers expense......and if that one go's tits-up you can't claim again, it's a one-off gesture.

Still....better than having to pay for a another new tyre, just have to make sure I take more care to avoid nails in the road !!!!! :}

Fingers crossed that me tread is within the specified limits !!!!
