Are they genuine or rip off merchants?
the reason I ask is because yesterday we got a stone chip in the windscreen, when we spoke to Autoglass they said that if the chip is no bigger than a ?1 coin then 99% of the time it can be repaired this one is smaller than a 5p piece, The guy came out today at 12:30 the actual time he was supposed to turn up was between 2pm & 6pm [I was at work] & he told Bev that the chip is too deep & the windscreen will need replacing Bev is of the opinion that the guy couldn't be bothered as it was pissing down at the time.
Just wondering if anyone else had encountered anything like this.

Derek I'v been given impression that if you got fully comp? a new window doesn't effect your no clams, if that's what worries you :dunno:

I'v had 2 window repaired one was a success the other not, as it so happens the one that failed was repaired in the rain.

You're right about the no claims however there is the ?75 excess & insurance companies are noted for loading premiums when there has been any claim regardless of blame/cost etc I feel that it could be a scam on Autoglass's part to get more money from insurance companies. if the chip was massive then I could understand a replacement windscreen but it is smaller than a 5p.
