also is it set just to whoever is connected to me or is there an open frequency ?

you can tell i havnt used it yet but is all the above possible with this old ish set ?

as it is quite an old style system, 5 pin style, then very unlikely it is bluetooth compatible. Only way possible is to connect a bluetooth dongle (quite expensive from Autocom) and pair your phone via the dongle. Regarding music then again probably needs to be hardwired from the player to the Autocom. From memory these units only used to work to other items connected by hardwire ie helmets/other devices etc. (except where possible with use of the bluetooth dongle). Autocom model may be useful for definite reference. Think that 5 pin was only for the use of helemets connection prior to change to 7 pin. Except for Goldwing set-ups which I believe still use the 5 pin, though stand to be corrected.

Not 100% sure with the 5pin but I think there is a bluetooth adapter that can be bought for connecting phones or sat navs.

Mine is 7pin, I have the sat nav blue toothing and a MP3 player/radio through the aux.
I don't have the phone connected as that's too much of a distraction, no call can't wait till I stop.

Sorry guys it is the 7 pin plugs not 5,:dunno::dunno: and dont think with all the research I have done on good old google, you tube, it seems not bluetooth compatible but there is an aux socket/hole and will see later if that can work, also can it be used as a free frequency or is it limited to just to rider to pillion

thanks again guys @tu*

Come on you Hatters
Don't really know about blue tooth connectivity, I just plug my phone in using the jack just for music, not bothered about answering the phone while riding. But I do know the new owners of autocom aren't as helpful as the original ones. Pretty sure the new guys only in it for the money whereas I got the impression the original team were all keen bikers looking to make good kit for other bikers.

I need a new headset for my new helmet. It looks like they've stopped doing just the harness meaning you have to buy a complete headset even if you've got good speakers and mic boom. Not an issue for you if you need it all, but I've got quite a few spare speakers and a good mic boom.

But I did find a guy selling pattern kits on eBay. Might be worth a search, I reckon it's where I'll end up.

thanks guys for the input, my autocom works but didnt get a second headset so I just need one set, but looking on fleabay they seem to be well priced at ?30 plus for just one set

I did a search on Amazon and google and found the bluetooth ones that clip to the side of the lid for a complete set of 2 for ?66 delivered now that looks like where I will be going but if anyone has a spare headset with the speakers and boom mic with the 7 pin din plug then let me know guys could save me a few quid

I'll have a look through tomorrow. I think my Autocom box of components includes a couple of headsets and a BT module.

Sorry - I've shagged my lower back* doing chores at the weekend and can't get the box of goodies down. I think it's easing so will give it ago tomorrow.

From memory there's three helmet leads, a couple of looms, a BT module, PTT button and full Autocom system (battery or 12V).

* - Not the best thing to do. I've got a track day at Snetterton on Saturday :xm
