Starting to make plans for 2007 to Austrian tyrol and mountain pass bashing.
Any recommendations for bike friendly accommodation, looking for the luxury so possible 3--4 star. Need to make a good impression, taking a mate and his wife along with there BBird, first time they ever been abroad. Once weather improves going out on bikes together to see what sort of mileage they are comfortable with in a day so I know How long to take travelling down.

All Have a merry christmas and a safe 2007

Try this www.chalet-anna.com

They are friends of my g/f so you'd expect me to recommend them, but they really do pull all the stops out to make your stay superb.

The pictures on the site don't do the place justice, it's a gorgeous house, with a fantastic view. There's a garage to house the bikes and a drying room for kit.

Heather cooks fantastic food and they are excellent hosts, great fun too, both of them have an excellent sense of humour. Nothing is too much trouble, they really want their business to work and will cater to your every whim (almost!).

It's probably more 4 star than 3, with very comfortable, very well furnished rooms. It's set up like a ski chalet, so perfect for somewhere to relax after a days riding and/or sightseeing.

The chalet is about 30 mins from the Grossglockner as well as being close to the Gerloss Pass, but most of the roads around are excellent fun. Zell-am-see is 10 mins down the road too. I can also recommend some tremendous roads on the way there too.

Check out alpineroads.com for some routes.

If you decide to check them out, mention Jon and Joy (you might get a discount) and request that Heather leaves your underwear alone.....

That's us pictured on the site too.
