Hey, like your handle, hang on for a minute, you're gonna have some saying the bird can't corner, don't worry, they say that just because they couldn't make it go round a bend :f, just make sure the 6mm spacer is fitted on top of shock absorber and off you go,glad you like your bike

cue 1200 pete methinks...........

gotta be the azaro 45/46B,just fitted some and they are HOT.
getting ones knee down is down to the rider and not the bike, but having witnessed several bird riders doing this i can vouch it is more than possible.

NO!

They're shite..........

I always ran Bridgestone 010 front & rear but was talking into AZARO's,,, cannot wait to be rid of them.
The compound is so damn hard that 1300 miles of m/way at well over 110mph 2 up with luggage did'nt even square it off.
I never once lit up the rear tyre with 010's fitted and had it on the fairing lowers several times but with AZARO's just lights up for fun in the wet and i find it twitchy in the dry on some surfaces.
I'll keep them for my continent trips next year..
If your after knee down i strongly recomend the 010.
The pic is of my last 010 after 4000 miles of mixed riding. :yo:

I have a slight wheel wobble at around 100 - 110 on looking at the bridgstone garb they don't recomend the 010 for the front, anyone else had this problem. they also say the problem becomes worse as the tyre wears.

I'm running the same Avons and I find them great dry and wet. Had AV35/36 a couple of years ago and thet WERE shite in the wet. You only had to kiss a white line and it felt like the back end slid 6" [150mm for our Euro cousins c7u8 ].

I have spare 020 front that I'm going to use in future but see mickb999's thread in coffee shop re free 020. g0551p

Never had an 010 front but think I read their not recommended because of bb weight. No doubt, someone will correct these gibbering rants of an old loon. :neenaw:

Yes i stand corrected in that its an 011e front and 010 rear i use.
I find the bike extemely sure footed with those fitted and i do not get so much as a twitch in the wet (my bike i mean).
I think it comes down to personal choice and riding style but the AZARO's do NOT do it for me..
Simple science really,, if they aren't wearing then they are too hard,, if they're too hard then you reduce traction :dunno: .
The only benefit i found with the AZARO's was the front tyre profile helped it turn in quicker.

w;;v I've had 207's,michelin hpx's,then azaro st's last summer which were great in the dry.
I got 7500m out of the rear.
We had a very long spell of dry weather when it did rain I had a job to keep the fooking bird upright.
It would let go at the slightest lean,I couldn't wait to get them off.
Next were a set of michelin pilot roads they were a very good tyre for grip wet and dry.I did have a few moments on them but think that was more down to me riding like a twat.
The rear was changed at 4000m and still had about 3mm left the front still looked like new.I changed them early as I was going to Cadwell for day with California superbike school and wanted something a bit stickier.
Michelin hi sports were next to go on there was a problem with the front not being able to be balanced which caused the steering to shake at 120mph as it wore it got worse I ditched them at 3000m the rear was fooked anyway.
After reading lot's of threads on here.and talking to 1200pete about the Avon's I decided to give them another shot.
I think the one's I had on last year were the early shit in the wet variety.
I've since done 1200m on em with no problems needown at will ask Stan they are without doubt the best tyre I've used on the bird to date.
Yesterday I went out with a guy on an r1 through mid Wales I was cornering faster than him and he would only catch me on the straights when I slowed down for him.We had some wet roads throughout our near 200m fun run,and while I was nervous at first because of last years experiences in the wet I soon became very confident and felt able to push on at a good pace with r1 guy still playing catch up.
He had the latest michelin pilot power's on.
When we stopped for a cuppa he said he was amazed at how nimble the bird was and how fast I was able to corner on it.
Most of this I put down to the confidence I now have in the Avon's.
On top of this I expect to get at least 7000m from the rear, the front a lot longer.
I paid ?150 a pair fitted and balanced to loose wheels and they were the bird specific one's.
They were ordered in for Stan and myself we had to wait a few weeks as the guy we go to seems to need constant kicking up the arse to get things moving, but he's cheap and a nice guy,is a biker himself and takes good care on fitting.
His tyre gauge is out by 4lb though reading low on the last two changes I've had there.
If anyone in the southwest Wales area wants them from him mention me and he will do them for the same price.
The tel num is 01792 884686 he's on the A48 on the left just as you enter Pontardulais,Swansea.
Ring him a good week in advance though as he may have to get them in,and allow at least a hour for fitting as he talks like fook worse than Stan.
Big thanks to 1200pete for convincing me to try them again.

re. tyres, check out this thread

you'll find the comparative pix of the footprints of the 020s and the 45/46 most interesting. Have Avons on mine and very happy with, much more than with the 020s, but they were not the 'specific' - although according to Bridgestone technical department themselves there is fuck all difference beside at ultra-high speed :bang:

....Yeah....Well...

....It's August - and rainy...

...Bridgestones are really good in the "wet"..

...And Michelin Pilot Sports are BRILLIANT in the "dry"...

...Both tyres are excellent (in appropriate conditions) for "two-up, giddy stuff" and for "touring"...

...Forget "Dunlop"..

...I'll try Avons for France next month and let ye know...How-EVER...

...ALL tyres are "crap" (in comparative terms) on the B/B without a 6mm ride-height spacer..

Can vouch for the shiteness of the Avon AV35/36 in the wet, was one of the contributing factors in my "Off" in October! Gonna have to get a 020 for the rear this time round, still got a lot of tread on the front, (Cant abide replacing for the sake of it!), will either go for the HPX Michellin or the AV45/46 next time round. Incidentially, any one know what the Diablo corsa is like for the BB???

Good to see you finally taken my advice Duracell. All we need now is for you, me, slaphead, doughnut and the other suffolk owning BB owners to get together for a bit of formation flying

S'ok. Better fill you in on a bit of Bubba history and this did catch Bert out once before. I LIVE in the south. I may have a southern accent BUT as far as I am concerned most of the people in here are Shandy drinking southern poofs, (That includes you DA), cos I was born not under a wandering star but in Inverness. So that makes me a Norfern monky and you a sauffern tossa! :neenaw: :k :f

Nope, but I can tell ya that the standard Diablo on a Fazer thou and/or an R1 is a grippier tyre than a 020, retains the heat longer and warms up quicker, and lasts as long as an 020.
I'd imagine you'd get through a Corsa rear in no time at all on a bargebird and TBH, if ya gonna go down that route, why not just go for Metzler Rennsports (RS1's), though dunno if they do 'em for the Barge? :dunno:
