Anyone Who Uses The Limehouse Link Tunnel.....Please Read !!!!!

A WORD OF WARNING !!!!!!!

Just had an e-mail from a Traffic Patrol Cop that got me through my IAM Advanced Course....worrying reading if ya commute in London and use the Limehouse Link Tunnel.....:B

A new camera system has been installed today covering the tunnel entrance and exit (both ways) called the SPEC's camera. It takes ya photo (digitally) as you enter the tunnel and times the journey until you exit. Any more than 30mph and it sends the details of ya vehicle to the local police (at Limehouse) and a NIP arrives in less than a week !!!!!

Problem is, for those who don't know the area, the average speed through this tunnel is 50-60mph so the bloke doing 30 is gonna be in for major grief from other road users !!!!!

Any thoughts on this one ?????:dunno: :dunno:

Seriously though, this is all getting too much, perhaps it's time to fight back Canadian style afterall why d'ya think we get our refurbished cameras from the canadians

Welllll,,,, if its any consolation every SPECS installation I have seen to date uses forward facing cameras.. nuff said !
( but fer feck sake look first !!! )

So I'm Told John..................

This sneaky bastid is situated just at the mouth of the tunnel.... quite high up....... big yellow bugger ....and snaps ya piccy as you pass it...... i.e. the REAR of the vehicle !!!!! The guy who sent me the e-mail works out of Limehouse Police Station and he 'suggested' I pass it on to any mates that ride.........that tells me that this phookin' thing can clock bikes as well as cars etc.

Of course, I could be wrong.....but I don't want to take a chance on it !!!!!!:} :}

having to take that route meself twice a day:B
ive noticed the buggers going up over the past few weeks
ill check again tomorrow but as far as im aware they are not online at the mo as 2 of the cams still have a bundle of cable hanging from them..also again ill check tomorrow but it seems there is no cameras if you divert off in the tunnel and come out at limehouse(as i do)
working in the same building as plod also had its advantages so ill pop me head round there tea room and enquire..as well as checking onsite meself

i shall report back at 18:00 hours tomorrow:-:
