Cool as a Cucumber
umm I think any traning is a good thing as long as it creates awareness the youger ones I think 17ys old ect could benifit from moor input as our test as is I found very basic you just have to meet the very minimum requiremens and the next day your on a very powerfull bike like our birds..... Also Motorway traning would have helped me as well not a test but a blast down the A1M might have helped with my tutor

cheers

richard

I know I keep on blasting MCN and folk must be sick and tired of me by now, but once again the feckin comic only has half the info and is 4 months out of date.. !!

This was brought forward last October.
The BMF are lobbying against it as are various road safety organisations...
If implemented it could well mean the demise of most small motorcycle training outfits as the suggested extra test items would HAVE to be done off road, and the instructors could be held liable for any accidents which may result in such goings on.
Yes, there will be certain areas of the test altered, but so far those amendments are not written in stone. All is still open to a very vigerous debate...

As has recently been pointed out by some quite serious people.. The harder the test becomes ( both car and PTW ) the more new drivers/riders seem to think that once the test id passed they can ride/drive extremely well..
Whereas in reality, it is only once the driving/riding test has been passed that people start to LEARN how to control a vehicle..

what test??????

what control???? was I supposed to do a test???

I agree that it really needs looking at a bit better, If all these small lesson places go the prices will no longer be competitive. Perhaps the businesses should be monitored better. But to expect everything off road...........that is no training at all, you have to be trained in traffic.

And most definatley you do not start learning until you are out on your own. I am still learning after two years and I am sure most of you guys if honest will admit you are still learning too.
