hi to all, i'm new to riding, insert pun here, having past the test in march this year. i started off on an 89 cbr thou but i've allways had my heart set on the blackbird, long before passing!! anyway after searching around this month checking insurance first i got a quote of ?503 from carol nash on the internet. well pleased i took the plunge and i pick my dream bike up on sunday.R#? now the nightmare, i went back to carol nash and they now quote ?843:mad: . having spent all day searching i cant't get it any cheaper than ?677. i know it's a fast bike but i'm having a serious sense of humour failures04pb0x6 So if anyone knows of decent insurers i'm all ears, ta.

Go to www.confused.com. They do bikes aswell as cars, i bought my bike without looking into insurance very hard and my insurance company wanted 9 THOUSAND pounds to insure me!!!! No joke!!brok3 But then i am 26.:xm I ended up with ebike which quoted me a reasonable 3 figure sum.

Carol Nash wouldn't insure me for a Blackbird, despite two year's no claims, and 9000 miles on a Deauville

Nope, only 1 had accident and that was when some bint drove into me whilst stationary at a roundabout on my old bike. Never crashed my car either, so i dont know where they got that figure from to be honest. The woman on the phone even laughed when she said it!

I just upgraded from a Bandit 600 to a bird and my best quote was with H&R online, even with offstreet parking (not garaged), writing the Bandit off a week before getting the BBird and living in an area of Bristol which is very nice but unfortunately next to a rough as arse-holes area!
