I'm kinda of bored of trawling through the usual guides, so knowing some of you bargeists have done a bit of traveling, I'm hoping someone can come up with a personal recommendation in respect of a hotel.
It has to be in Hong Kong (not Kallon); preferably one you've been to?

Try this one http://www.mandarinoriental.com based on Hong Kong Island central location for downtown and all transport connections. About 5 minutes from Star Ferry terminal.

Don't dismiss Kowloon though - http://hongkong.peninsula.com is one of the top hotels in HK. Only about 5 min walk to Star Ferry - great way to see HK Island (especially at night).

Can recommend The Park Lane in Causeway Bay. Five minutes on the MTR from Central - restaurant/bar prices in the hotel a bit pricey. Huge shoping are in Causeway Bay.
