Could you please assist me,
I`ve just fitted as per instructions a Givi wingrack system to my 2001 Honda Blackbird, it is fitted with a E460 top box and E41 panniers.
Upon completion of fitting the wingrack it was perfect, I cleaned the bike and left it in my heated garage. After three weeks just sitting in the garage not going anywhere due to the terrible weather I noticed whilst cleaning the bike ( as I have done several times since fitting the wingrack) stress fracture marks on the tailpiece in the area where the wingrack mounts on the grab rail.
On closer investigation it would appear that it is due to the bracket clamping the plastic of the tailpiece. The bolts were tight but not over tight.Has this fault occurred before?
Can I do anything to prevent it getting any worse?
There was nothing in the instructions to indicate the possibility of the rack damaging the tailpiece, all assistance will be gratefully appreciated.
