Having been a fan of Queens music since the very start, I have just got back from the cinema having been to see Bohemian Rhapsody.

If you enjoy their music and have not been to see it or you are not sure, you will love this. The casting is very clever, the music is brilliant and now I have Night at the Opera playing in the background.

BUT it is touring in 2019

As for the movie .... I’m an avid fan and looking forward to seeing it (and buying the DVD when it comes out)
I did read a few slating reviews ... BUT I will be watching it this week ....

If you go, be prepared for the earworm.

Not giving anything away but the last track is "Don't stop me now"......

I have been humming it since we got home yesterday and this morning it is still in my head

Daughter has "We will rock you" stuck in her head apparently.

Wife has Bohemian Rhapsody in her head.

It is addictive.

Have I mentioned the time when a member of Queen came up to me in a restaurant to say 'hi'?

Wife n I managed to get tickets to the very last performance. One of the best nights out i’ve ever had, and finished off with a few songs with May and Taylor playing along with the cast. Just brilliant.

We are off to see it this evening. I wouldn't consider myself a fan but an appreciation of the music for sure over the years. Went to see Queen and Adam Lambert last year and that was freaking awesome.

I watched Bohemian Rhapsody last night....what a crock of crap.

Idealised, stylised, inaccurate. Felt like I was watching a Disney cartoon.

Shame. Opportunity missed.

However, the martin Clunes comedy about a driving instructor that I watched after was very funny, in particular the bit when he is giving his stepson advice about asking a girl out. "Oh, she's way too good for you, don't ask her as it'll only destroy your self confidence". Beautiful.

Your real name wouldn't be Paul Prentice by any chance?

We watched the film last night and really enjoyed it. Great music, interesting story even though (in typical Hollywood style) they twisted the facts to make for a "better" storyline.
Rami Malek certainly nailed the Freddie Mercury that we've all seen on stage.

Although I'm a fan of Queens music I've never taken much interest in the history of the band and it's members so I was hoping to see a bit more of the dynamic between them that made Queen the unique band they were.
But despite the length of the film (2 and a quarter hours) it seemed to rocket through the life of the band from the very start to the Live Aid performance and I felt like another 20 - 30 mins was needed. You never really got to know the band personalities well enough....but maybe that was the point.

Ultimately a sad end, at just 45, to one of the great showman of the music world. Tragic that the drugs that might have prolonged his life came out just a few months after he died.
One thing that I got from the movie was his inability to admit publically about his sexuality. A few years later and the press wouldn't have been remotely interested in whether he was gay or not. But then again, perhaps a lot of his inner turmoil and angst drove him to be the talent that he was and to have created such great music. Maybe living in current times where being gay is no big press story would have meant that the dynamic and outrageous Freddie Mercury of then wouldn't have existed and all those great tunes might not have been written.
