Very nice, i particularly like the Enfield & its not up at a bad price at all, I used to own a socket bayonet for that which would add almost half again to the value today

My next door neighbour is a re-enactments participant for American civil war events and owns a 3 band 1853 pattern Enfield, this 2 banded Enfield featured above was essentially a cut down version favoured by scouts etc.
As an aside we were talking over the hedge one day and I asked him if they got to fire them much and he informed me that at the time there had been a bit of a fracas caused by some tit leaving the ram rod in the barrel and the feckin thing hurtling towards the “enemy” like a javelin, luckily no one was hurt but the practise was on hold for now untill they had got better practices in place.

Nothing has changed then, leaving the ramrod in & firing it off was a common mistake in the heat of battle as was double loading, this is partly why our very own redcoats were the best in the world they were trained extremely hard to NOT make those mistakes & keep up an incredible rate of fire far higher anyone else was capable off at the time
