The tories will scrap the unaccountable partnerships responsible for 6000 revenue raising speed cameras if they win the next election. They will make the pledge this week following increasing concern about the bodies that will issue 3,000,000 speeding tickets this year.

Last week the boss of the scheme in Norfolk resigned after a police investigation found there was insufficient data to justify half of the counties 18 fixed cameras.

There is also a plan to have police camera cars to be used to catch tailgaiters.
