There were two logic questions in the 11+ exam I took, this is the first..

What goes up down, but not down up..

The 'correct' answer is stupid. I have just disproved it and am covered in soot as a result.

The correct answer ( at least the one that I used and was marked correct, is an umbrella up a drain pipe... though I would think chimney would have been accepted too

By coincidence I have an umbrella and spare 3m length of drainpipe.

When it stops raining I am going to try and show how badly wrong the 'correct' answer is.

If you pull an open umbrella through the drainpipe handle first it will go through.

Trust me, I know this.
