How many of you have worked hard over the years, moved from house to house till you finally get your lovely dream house with nice views? well the latest Govenment ploy is to tax people who have nice views, suppose it was a bit remiss to think that countryside views don't come at a price.

It's a haulage yard actually, and a place that sells very nice sheds and summer houses, man8um

But the view at the back (which I can also see from my Bedroom) is very pleasant.

Having said that we are considering selling up and buying some land (9.5 acres) that has come up for sale in the very exclusive area of Cawthorne however I doubt that we would ever get planning permission so we would have to buy a smaller house as well.
cawthorne for those that don't know is run by a parish council and before anybody can buy a property there they have to be vetted by the parish council to see if they are suitable to live there. Should be safe though cos we are only buying grazing land, mind you they may want to interview the horses before they allow us to put them there.

That's what we thought when we found out, and it's not as if it is an ancient law, it has only been introduced in the past year and has the full backing of Barnsley council.
