Today my prized ZZR and Busa were escorted off the premises for pastures new. Too big and heavy for an old fart like me now, and so they had to go. Not an easy decision and it pained me, it’s the first time I have sold something without actually wanting to. 8213D107-7862-4A49-A681-DA9818235943.jpeg

I suppose its been a couple of years for me now and I do keep thinking about getting something small and light but it wouldn't be the same and I am liable to thrash any little un I could afford to death in about half a day hence ending up still bikeless but also broke

I had expected the inside of your camper van to be a little better if I’m honest.

Very very very very very light and goes like stink.

Took me a good while to get used to having so little motorised bicycle in front of me……felt like my nose was hanging over the front wheel…..not a good feeling when going round Paddock Hill bend at Brands which already feels like you are falling off the face of the earth:eek:

Don’t rule out CBR600…..

As much of a Honda fan as I am, I find the CB600 sort of bland after riding an R6
Darrell had an R6 when we toured France, and he loved it
It did eventually destroy a big end but I suspect that had more to do with the extended wheelies it had to endure than anything else
And as a bonus the lump was REALLY easy to work on
Had it pulled down, new ends fitted and back on the road in a day

I would but trying to keep it as light as possible, and nowadays I have to face the fact I just aint that quick any more
Maybe not quick by your previous standards but compared to twats like me you are!

If there’s one thing I’ve learned on my little Street Triple it’s that it’s way more fun riding a smaller bike with the throttle nailed open than riding a large cc bike at 50%. I loved my Speed Triple and still regret letting her go over three years ago but I’d stick with the Street before picking up another Speed.

Ive been thinking that way for the last 5 years but just can't do it. I have it now for 21 years so it owes me nothing.

Oops, I just accidentally purchased a 1976 Triumph T160 750cc Trident.

US import, naturally, but owned by my pal for the past 28 years and never used, just kept in his collection. Now it just needs registering and MOT (to then qualify for historic status and zero RFL)

it’s in pretty good original unmolested nick, and so it should be as it’s only done 1150 miles.

Naturally, as evidenced by the left foot gear change.

I cant fold myself up onto one now and there is not enough wind protection for me but they are not a bad choice if you like them

Had all this stuff going round in my head for ages now and I cant find a damn thing I like that is sensible, I can afford and that i haven't previously owned or wouldn't kill in short order

I have ridden one for about 70 miles, seat to footrest is too short for my long legs, screen isn't tall enough even with the flip that was fitted to take the pressure of my knackered neck at speed and and I cant get far enough behind it to get out of the blast or my knees end up around my ears, the stock bars appear to be at an odd angle which made my wrists hurt (but maybe that was an adjustment by the owner?)
Honestly the bog stock steelie cbr6 I was riding at the time was a much nicer place to be and I could walk after firing through a tank full of fuel

The second I rode had been "streetfightered" with the help of a brick wall and was actually much better with flat ish bars and no fairing at all up to about 80 when wind pressure quite literally became a pain in the neck

I’m with Slim in this…at over six foot I was aching all over after a track day on an R6. Very cramped riding position for me.

But you should be ok Jaws …..even at your age:p

Honda used to have a ‘hot’ CBR600 if I remember correctly - the ‘RR’?…………

I agree the footrests could do going lower but I fond there is plenty of weather protection.
Footrests lowering is not a problem :)
