Alurack and Honda Panniers

My Bird has the Honda Panniers and the associated rails. I've tried to fit a Alurack for a topbox but couldn't see how I could make it fit without major surgery (to the alurack not me!). Talking to Jaws he's of the opinion that it will fit with just a combination of spacers and that some forum members have done it.
I'd be grateful to hear from anyone who's been succesful with the above combination

I just had 2 small plates welded on the Honda rack. Carried the top box for 10,000 miles without a problem. Cost about ?40 to have it done.
