Tory MP for Dover Natalie Elphicke..... "The French said they would take action, but you have to wonder if they are just playing us for fools."

An MP for Dover who isn't aware of what those slimey, twofaced, backstabbing, untrustworthy, bunch of garlic munching, cowardly ingrates are actually like.
FFS....they're just across the water from her constituency.

I was talking today to one of those cheese eating surrender monkeys.

He made some points...

Same view as French interior minister, the UK is responsible for making it attractive for migrants to come here.

The French do not have a law preventing peeps going to sea in little boats.
Therefore the police cannot legally detain them.

Even sailing into UK waters is not actually a crime - you mostly have to wait until an offence is committed before arresting someone.

Must admit I'd not actually considered that point before. What UK law would we use to stop peeps launching off the beaches of Bognor Regis in inflatables.

Working in France requires an ID card.

An ID card requires a registered address.

Health treatment in Frances requires production of a health card. This requires a registered address and proof of payment of taxes.

Heavy sanctions for anyone employing anyone who doesn't have a valid ID card.

Getting anywhere to live in France requires a valid ID card and registering with the local authority. There are also laws limiting the numbers of peeps registered at a property (to try and limit convenience addresses).

I've said before - perhaps we actually need to take a step back and listen to those on the outside looking in.

If it put a stop to the rash of illegal immigration would we agree to national ID cards and production of NHS card before treatment?

This news (from 2019) found after a very brief search

It shows that (for good or bad) France has created an environment where undocumented aliens don't feel loved.

Describing themselves as the largest collective of undocumented migrants in France, the gilets noirs are living proof of France’s troubled asylum and immigration system. France detains the most undocumented migrants in Europe. Groups fear that the systematic use of detention will only worsen this year, with the introduction of a new immigration and asylum law extending the maximum detention period from 45 to 90 days. A more accurate national motto, they tell me, would be ‘exploitation, humiliation, deportation’.

I’ve said it dozens of times - I have no problem at all with a national ID card. I carried one for over five years when I lived in Singapore and it never hurt my feelings.

I get that some people feel that they’re being spied on, tracked or whatever with an ID card but we’re tracked everywhere anyway by our cars, phones and credit/debit cards. I read it somewhere once, I forget where exactly (and I don’t know if it’s true), but given the amount of CCTV on the streets we’re the most surveilled nation on earth.

I really don’t see the disadvantage to having an ID card and if stops the flow of these wankers coming to our country then let’s get them issued, like right now!

I’ve had id cards all my working life, no problem if you’ve nothing to hide.

I showed an ID card today when I weighed in my dud lead acid battery (£8.05) as it’s mandatory if you are disposing of valuable metals etc. OK it was my photo driving licence, but the principle stands.

Who needs to worry about carrying ID but the scroats that want to evade everything.

Some valid points, but surely the "asylum seekers" are in France illegally if they've came from the far East? I thought they had to settle in the first safe country they came to. I'm all in favour of ID cards, as already pointed out if you've nothing to hide etc....

Frenchies carry ID....So what?
Immigrants don't for obvious reasons.
Frenchies can't be ars'ed identifying
illegal non nationals entering their country
& so turn a blind eye when exiting into this country, giving us the major headache with costly process/identification and possible deportation and all at the tax payers expense.

You're right, but the French view is that's because we're too wishy washy.

The only reason they're in France is to get to the UK.

The French viewpoint is that we're causing the encouragement for these peeps to travel across Europe and so giving everyone else a problem.

If we step back and look at it from that point of view then dear Boris issuing his "requirements" via social media is never going to get a result.

We're busy lecturing the French but actually not doing anything here to remove the attraction.

Unfortunately, they can settle where they like. My understanding is that once they pass through the first safe country then they’re no longer refugees and become economic migrants.

The French seem to deport more than 20,000 illegals each year.

UK figures 3,327 for last year...

If you believe the stats? That quote was
during the height of covid restrictions.
Meanwhile, almost 13,000 arrived on our
shores by the end of March 2021.
Government figures boast that is 44%
less than 2020. Forward to today and
you can guestimate the figures closer to
20,000+. So...Your 20,000 that the frogs
deport are probably the ones that arrive
here anyway.
My point is: That they 'immigrants' are arriving via French shores.

UK figure for 2018 was 9,474 of those 5,677 were non EU citizens.
The French figure was still well over 20,000.
The disparity is huge.

In both cases they are numbers detained and subsequently deported so don't include the wandering migrants.

The French point is the UK is a soft touch which is why these folks are entering France in the first place.

I'm just saying think of it from their point of view.

These folks really don't want to stay in France as the French "do their bit" to detain/deport and prevent them working/housing/benefits.

If the UK "did their bit" effectively these folks wouldn't even be in France as the UK would be as unwelcoming economically as France.

These economic migrants aren't so desperate to get to Belgium, Scandinavia, Spain, Portugal etc.

Why not....?

If you were French surely you'd be furious that you have hoards of these migrants in your country and costing you money etc just because the UK can't get its act together.

I started wondering a while ago why these migrants were so desperate to reach the UK?
It starts to make some sense if you listen to the French point of view.
It looks like the migrants view is the UK is a soft touch and if you make it here there's little chance of being caught or kicked out.

You don't need detention centres, migrant camps, extra police, coastguard, surveillance aircraft etc.
You just need to introduce some simple laws.

We must look mad.

We give the French 57 million to help with extra policing costs.
Or
We could spend two shillings and six pence making some simple changes to our legislation.

Very difficult to argue with any of the above.
