... which you can find there,
http://www.kriss.com/h7mod.htm
just want to make double sure the headlight bulbs are H7 (just had my Bird. I assume so but it's not in the manual! so better be safe than sorry!)
Plus, it's possible to replace the automatic light detector which makes it not usable by night (US DOT regulations) by a simple switch... which means that you can then use the modulator also by night at a flick of a switch... so that people can not miss you even at night time!

Headlight modulator legal

FrenchUK, are you sure those things are legal in the UK? I know there's a site in the UK that sells something similar (www.performancemotorcycleparts.com I think), but I've never been able to work out whether they're legal or not.

Maybe you could let us know when/if you get stopped by the Police :}

Legal or not who cares?

:lol: If they sell it on a UK website without any legal warning then it must be legal... ):} My point is, I'd rather be seen and not wiped than be legal, and a lot of cops actually understand that...
On pushbicyles flashin leds were (are still?) illegal, although it is a great means to be noticed... There is a great post by Jaws somewhere in this forum about the stupidity of some of things that people still have to comply to by law, for instance having a stack of hay in hackney carriages (taxis) in UK...
The stock they have on this website is more expensive than Kriss, I'll let you know how it works... I also ordered the flashing brake light from Kriss, I reckon anything that prevents you from going down is worth every penny (although I'm sure the ladies out there will beg to differ :lick: !!!)

Good point well made... and I agree - I'd rather get a telling off from a copper than get mown down by some prick in a BMW :rant: :p

Let us know how you get on with it...

By law the only light that is allowed to flash is the indicator light and it has to be yellow (IIRC this is part of the construction and use regulations)
Flashing the headlamp is only to be used to indicate you are there and conveys no other meaning.

On the other hand find me a legal definition of 'flashing'. The only one that comes close AFAICT is the one that stipulates the max and min off and on times of the indicators (which is between /5 and 2 seconds IIRC).

I sent an email to PerformanceMotorcycleParts asking if their modulator was legal in the UK. Their response was "probably not"
