do you mean the place where they've had the roadworks for ages? really crap surface over the bridge coming out of oxford? in which case, if my memory serves me right, i think it goes national after the camera beyond the bridge (but i haven't been along that way for a few months). sorry for you mate though - i think it is a pretty safe place to start making progress once you get past the bridge.

sounds like it from what he told me, it is a national limit before the A34 junction , but the camera is near the bridge??? and it has clocked him at 48mph

coming out of oxford, i think (but not 100% sure) that it's a 30 or 40 limit, first you come to the bridge, then the gatso, after which it goes national (but this could have been due to the roadworks that have been there seemingly for ages).
i might be heading past that way on saturday morning - in which case i'll let you know exactly what it is.

I know this bit of road and camera Andy. They were working on the two bridges for months and the camera was put up to slow the traffic as the bridges were on a one way at a time system with traffic lights. The limit was/is 40mph but they finished working on the bridges a while ago, both lanes now being open, but they haven't taken the camera away yet! And I know it's been active for yonks as I've seen it flash when I've been approaching it, triggered by cars going past it.

Not sure how he stands there.... he might have a case to defend if he can prove the camera was a temporary one during roadworks, but that might be an uphill battle on the grounds that it's there so it's there to be taken note of. BUT I've also a feeling they have taken the 40 signs away, so that might be his escape. Can he do a recce to see if the signs are gone? (If I'm that way soon, I'll check).

He needs to get some legal advice on temporary camera sites after the activity that called for it has now finished.

The whole area round there is a 40 but not 100% sure if it was just cos of roadworks,

They are still slowly removing all the equipment from the surrounding area, and up until the whole site is cleared then they are " PROTECTING the Workforce" so to speak.

:bang::bang::bang: sorry 4 ya mate wolfie,

and there is another camera site just past the Eynsham junctions in the 60 zone before you get to the dual carriageway, then as Rob says another one at the far end of the dually where it goes down to single carriageway near the Brize Norton / Carterton turn off

Wolfie, I'm living in Witney now and I use this road daily........going from Oxford towards Witney the camera situated on the downslope of the final bridge is in a 40 mate. The next one on the brow of a hill closer to Witney is a 60...........Sam
