I cannot remember seeing the news at all..
I was allowed to watch telly at 5pm to 6pm then it was turned off
Proly why I was such a book worm !
Same here I remember being woken up and plonked in front of the telly to watch it.
Me being born.
We didn't have a television. No loss. Books are better.
Derek's was watching the 1925 Tour de France
Moon landing for me too. Like Cougar 377, I was woken up to watch it. Following on from that was the world cup final in 1970. There was a bloke in our village, known to all as Oggie who was the first to have a colour TV.
Being forced to watch it is possibly the reason why I dislike Ball footing to this day, that & it's about as exciting as watching a dog take a dump.

Not so much as a child cos I was about twenty at the time, but I still remember watching the Bradford stadium fire on live tv, seeing people fighting out of it onto the pitch on fire, before the producers decided they better stop showing the actual main stand and focused more on the crowds gathered on the pitch. Truly shocking scenes.
