My BIRD was standing still since a minor mishap in May & I had to wait it out until parts arrived last week.

It took her a fresh lot of plugs & a single rotation to fire back to life... the moment it roared back up was priceless (many of you wud relate to that).

Its getting fresh cushion in the fenders & other cosmetic touches tonight & I can't wait to get the last plastic back in :)

Looking back the last few month while it stood, I'd see vehicles on the road, down highways, I'd drive into parking lots, a party, a resort & get a feeling of something missing. Its a whole new world with the BIRD up & roaring again... its a feeling one can't beat :)

Just thought I'd share with you all.

Thanks John for your wisdom... as always.

(Pics soon)

Not too long after i started this thread, I decided to go all the way on her. With 2 and a half years of structural work, staring at her motionlessly for hours, sometimes nights oblivious of time, I'm finally done with the structure.
Thought of John and of sharing with you all.
I've started the electrical work and will unbolt her to the chassis to start detailing sometime soon. From here I'm suspecting 2 months to finish.
Thx John, u've been a dear friend, my inspiration and one reason why my Bird is amongst the closest things to my heart.
The last few shots of the structure before I knock her down, cheers! -

Looks great after all that hard work you have obviously put into her, can't wait to see when she is completed @tu* (love the flasks on either side.....is one coffee and one tea? :-0))

Lol Howard, thx. They r intakes, it's a carb so had to prevent RAM air. Also, the aftermarket panels available to bridge the gap between tank and chassis look like crap, these took time to put together. Effort was to turn the intake away and mate the tank and chassis without it looking desperate.

Ive taken it through two test runs last month, feels nimble like a litre bike while it retains the character of the Bird, u know that same feeling getting into and out of the corner. :) Let's see how it feels all done. I don't have cushion under the butt yet. :-0) Cheers.

Lol, concur.
Thx noobie for your thoughts, overwhelmed.
This forum is an emotional place for me, started here when the Bird came home over a decade ago and John was my only guide. It's her first home.
