A long time on 2 wheels

God, I'm bored witless at work today - only me in the office so I thought I'd make a rare post. My wife Jennie is a keen family researcher and wanted me to do a piece on my biking history to add a bit of colour to the normal dates, occupations and so on. Frankly, I think it will just make me look a twat to future generations but there you are.

Anyway, I'd put it off for a while and then saw a couple of excellent historical biking posts on KiwiBiker so decided to get stuck in. Even managed to find some incriminating pictures (blush)

Here it is for better or worse. :p

Not long to go before knock-off and the weekend. :yo:

Safe riding

Thanks Geoff, I've had a shite day and reading that with a cuppa, has set me up for a nice relaxing evening.

I sometimes envy the young uns getting into bikes, all those experiences ahead of them, wouldn't change any of mine, good or bad.

Mr Brooke man8um

Sure you're not a closet Suzuki rider if you can't open files? :}

Hey Geoff, I've just downloaded the latest Adobe thingy and I can open it now. Could a Suzuki rider have done that :rolleyes:

Thanks Barrie

I think subconsciously I had similar thoughts to you and writing that piece helped to put things in perspective. Been sort of wondering whether I should be going for a more "upright" machine like a Speed Triple or an FZ1 or something, but then I think of all the fun that the 'bird brings and how I feel when I see it sitting in the garage and thought, "bollocks, it's what keeps me feeling young and fit" :}. Not very elegantly put as it's Sunday morning and I'm still half asleep, but I hope you get the drift, hehe.

Geoff,

A well written piece of motorcycling autobiography mate,

Your encouragement to Barrie (my dad) is most welcome as he has been asking some semi serious questions re safety etc especially since My off in July.....To be honest Ive questioned my own commitment too. But bikings in our blood.

Life would be so less full without it..

Thanks mate.

I tried to sit on my brothers sp2 today. Managed to get on with my gimp leg but couldnt get my foot on the left hanger:bang:

If that dosent improve I dont rate my chances of getting on a bird again.

Better get looking for adverts for GS1150s then eh?:}
