The advice offered is done so in good faith and is based on a fairly long time working exclusively on Blackbirds..

now I'm confused !! should I now ignore any advise given previously, and discount any advise given from now on and would the advise I have taken and acted upon before, become bad advise, as would any from now on?? could someone advise me on where the hell I'm supposed to get any advise in future, as the advise I have previously had now appears to be held as questionable!! :dunno: and if you do advise me on the whether or not the advise you give me is good advise will you be able to !!! and it's no good I've confused myself!! any advise as to what I should do now?? :dunno:

If I tell anyone to do something on their PC, don't blame me if they fry the processor and hard drives. Oh no.

My track record is not high today. My RAID 0+1 array just failed on my server. c7u8

    Now that is sad !
I mean, we use a raid so that if one drive fails it can be rebuilt stripping the data over,,, but to lose a whole setup !! Bummer

dat drive on a seperate controller I hope !

The RAID array was the backup device. It copies my work every night at 6pm from a network storage device. Nothing important lost.

I think if I'd had an 80GB drive to hand I could have just plugged it in and sorted it, but it refused to continue booting on the remaining 3 drives even though the data was intact.

And I would like to point out that any person, living or dead, should not take any notice of any advice I give, have given, or think I should give.

No advice has been harmed in the giving of this information, all advice is from a sustainable advice source.
All advice that could be given is multi cultural, gluten free, and, if allowed, would be given freely and without payment or cost to you, or any person nominated to receive the advice by you.

    There, That's me safe!

I would like to point out to all readers... I am an equal opportunity 'advice' user, It is not expressly used as 'advice', this could also be phrased.. Counsel, Suggest, Consultation, Admonition, Guidance, Instruction, or recommendation in any combination.

When the phrase 'ton' was used in an earlier post, this could also be given that Kilo, Tonne, or any other measure of weight, as in heaviness, burden, load or ballast could be used.
This negates any recourse to gravity or words used to describe the equivalent measure of any weight.

    I think :dunno:

The only way to be safe(ish) is for none of us to give any advice. We should not recount we have done or what other people have, or may, do. Don't quote anything seen or read anywhere, don't tell anybody anything.

Don't email, text, phone, write, instant message, pm or otherwise communicate by such methods as, but not limited to, using a stick in the sand or by pissing in the snow.

In fact, don't even talk to anyone at all.

Please don't ask me about tyres, oil, 100w bulbs, brake delinking, chain lube, polish, dubble bubbles, single bubbles, led's, cruise controls, mpg, sat navs, tightening torques, thread lube, helmets, visors, jackets, gloves, boots and rust prevention (except Zooki owners).

    Is that enough??

To prevent you from just floating off into the sky, my advice given only on the understanding that the advice is freely given & as such you have the choice as to whether to follow it or not [in which case my advice would be not that's if I were in a position to give advice without fear of reprisals] would be to wear heavy boots
