My current BB is the grey one. Really lovely bike.
By all means drop me an email and I will send you some details.

I tend use my VFR a bit more now, purely because it's lighter as my old hip gives me a bit of gip. In all the bikes I've had, I must say the Blackbird is just one of the very best, either carbed or FI'd, they are magnificent machines and properly engineered to last unlike some of the competitors.

Difficult one that, the XBR500 was a lovely little thing, not fast, but put a smile on your face, but probably my fave was the big yellow CB1000. Built from girders and old school looks. Great for a Sunday potter around on. Not mega fast, very heavy, and by no means modern brakes, but gave you a sense of pride when it was parked up at the pub!

Blackbird is still awesome though for so many other reasons. A future classic for sure.

I did my best to find the perfect bike...never found it. I had a VFR800 and found it extremely over rated. It just lacked power and the X factor. The BB is everything the VFR lacks.

I just traded a CB1300 for the bird I have now. It handled like a bus and was a bugger to keep clean.

I'll be keeping this bike as long as I can. @tu*

robsbird

red ones are faster
so a new bike every 18 month and looking at that lot that would also make you Very old..............

your not Howard's bother are you.............h1d1ng2

Agree VFR lacks grunt compared to the BB, but them most things do!
Also depends on the riding you do and roads you use.

Also agree CB13s are hard to keep clean. Downpipes are supposed to be stainless... yeah right... They should have been double skinned and chromed!

I'm with you on the "Big One", Staggy.

Of all the bikes I've had that one stands out as the all round best. Absolutely safe handling and a real feel good factor when either riding or just looking. I have never been a cleaning fanatic but my Big one was never put away dirty. I was seduced into trading her in by my dealer who had a request from the previous owner to get it back for him almost at any price. A big soft girl who was a lovely ride and totally dependable.

That's a lovely collection of bikes there Staggy. I've always liked the look of the Big One, but never ridden one. I should imagine it rides much better than its 1970's counterparts.

Here are a couple I've done up:

It actually rode surprisingly well.

This one didn't:-0)

And now for something completely different....

Of the relatively few I've owned, the Blackbird really does take some beating@tu*
