Bye Bye blackbird

You have been a good friend, together we have covered many miles and have had new experances.

But you cant get round the corners with out scratching your lower fairing.

Yes it was one of those special RED blackbirds.

I asume you are refering to that rare breed of Red b/b's

What they lacked in speed was easily made up by their class.

that's the one

The colour where the name of the colour beared no resemblence to what it actually looked like.....bit liek the paints you buy from the DIY stores - looks a great colour on the small swatch on the tin - slap it on the walls and it looks nothing like....:dunno:

Maybe you could have dropped the pink 'bird down to B&Q and asked them to scan the colour in - be interested to hear what they call it ?? :neenaw:

You getting one f the new R1's ?

No no no SmoothandQuick

The paint at B&Q cracks after a couple of months. For example see the new black blackbirds that seem to go matt about two days after coming off the production line

R1 is RED no doubt about that.

Please try and look further then the colour, as my old man used to say never judge a book by its cover.

Tee hee

Got a point there about the black ones turning all matt....:neenaw:

I was wondering whether it is one of the latest generation of R1's with the underseat zorsts ? Not my cup of tea, but an awesome piece of engineering to look at.....

No cant afford a new one

Got a 99 model with 10,000 miles on with Olinns rear suspension, front forks.

Will miss the bird but just fancy a change.

Looked at costs as my 1st daughter (yes one of 3 all wanting to follow each other) is going to uni, (dont start me off on the costs, fecking govenment) its seems that there are loads of bits and pcs for 99 models going cheap so thought it would be a good bike to keep on the road via DIY servicing and repairing.

Acording to she who must be obeyed i was lucky to get another bike, she was going to convert cash into new suite and some of that paint we talked about.
