2006 Blackbird

Picked this up from someone who was at the show:

Asked a goon on the Honda stand what happened to the 2006 blackbird and he spilled the beans. Honda test rider Dave Hancock test rode it in Japan and told them it was no real improvment in the old model. As this is nearly a 10 year old design thats quite a slating. Anyway, Honda pulled it and are back at the drawing board. Dunno if this is public domain or not, but I hadn't heard it before. Though I'd be suprised the bloke in the stand told me this lot if it isn't already public

I guess it's also possible that Honda will be giving out the above reason when perhaps they pulled it to wait to see what the opposition come up with. Remember way back when Kawaki pulled the Z900 as Honda launched the CB750. They improved it and went back later.

Think there was something in Bike magazine recently about him. Bike were saying how much Honda valued his input and opinion?

we "collared" a tart on the Honda stand and she said quite openly "they" the people on the stand hadn't got a clue!! about any "new" Bird, and we would probably get more information from MCN!!! I have no reason to dis believe her, as like most big concerns you employ monkeys for that type show work, with just the "token" bigwig to field the awkward questions and those from the press,!! :dunno:
the likes of krapasuki and suzooki are more likely to "snitch" on a new Honda product if there was one in the offing! imho, :dunno:
