Honestly Bev...go and get it done. I took my IAM Observers test in January of 2003 just after the heavy snowfall was starting to melt....it was still laying on the verges and in the gutters of the country lanes !!!!

If you can pass a test in bad weather then you'll have no fears about riding in any conditions should you ever get caught out during a ride-out.

Good luck with it !!!

just do it Bev, I took my test in light snow, the examiner was all for abandoning it, I told him "If I can ride in this I can ride in owt" that and we were at the furthest point from the centre, so I "did the deed" and the rest is history, another benifit, "If" you fail {unlikley} you should get a re test date sooner, as not as many take "winter" tests,
go for it girl,

id ride the bike in winter always used to in any weather. unfortunately sharing 1 bike can cause a problem. quote"your not riding it in winter when we have a car its too dangerous"bollox!!!!! as wolfie said you gain alot more experience riding in bad weather conditions. so you get wet so what you can easily dry off when you get home. ride to the conditions and slow down matters. see me having few nights on settee in future in bad books.

Floozy666 is doing her Theory and Hazard perception this coming Saturday, and she wants to do her DAS in Feb.

By the way has any one who has driven for a few year tried the Hazard perception test?? How did you get on with it???

Go for it, once you pass you wont be able to keep your hands off the bike,

It is true that riding in the winter makes for a safer rider.

Best of luck (not that you'll need it)

codbasher did hazard and perception as well today part of it. advice to floozy666, look for every hazard then click whether minor or major. first 3 clips bit nervy. keep headphones on at all times even thoughyou dont need them cause people are coughing etc so you have full concentration. think you are at home on your own computer, sit as you would at home but not too close as the hazzard test picture is very clear not like the cdrom you buy. put yourself in THAT car you are THAT driver. there are more questions about riding a bike because of the obvious. one question was... when can you park and leave the bike engine running. no trick questons. anything i can help floozy with pm me i will gladly test her on the whole theory book if she can feel as how i feel at this moment. good luck you can do it.

I am about to do a Driver navigator course so I can drive the nasty people to court and other prisons, part of this course is commentary driving, whereby I will have to relate everything I see and do to the examiner, even telling him when I am checking my mirrors, to prepare myself for this I have been practising whilst driving in my own car, and it is amazing the amount of potential hazards that I am spotting, whereas before I never really noticed them, although i suppose subconsciously I was aware of them, it is an eye opener when you actually say them out loud

Did my theory and hazzard perception in Aug 2003. After the CD-Rom version, which I could never pass the HP test on, I flew through it. The CD version is nowhere near as clear as the actual test. The theory is pure common sense, expecially if you've driven for many years.

Just the DAS to go, ulp, very soon now.............
