1st trip to the Rainland (Germany)

We just got back from Germany (Rhineland) this afternoon in spite of the weather we had good time. We only managed 1 full day to have a blast around the area, due to it p*ssing it down 1 full day & night, but from what we did see it?s certainly worth another trip (at least a week). We stayed at Andre & Marie?s bikers B&B, www.german-rhineland.com if 6 of you or more, stay at least 3 night it?s very reasonable (only ?20 p n, p p) they and the rest of the villagers in Ruppertshofen made us very welcome. We had the run of the house kitchen, dinning room, games room, garage yard, garden & use of all bathrooms and a full fridge of beer, just help your self and mark it up on your own slate (2 Euro a bottle). Andre is a bit of a guru on bikes and has about 8 to 9 bikes ?that I could see? in various stages of completion.
Another group of riders w;;v was stopping at the same time as us, each night we all ended up in the pub (next door) till the early hours as did Andre & Marie :beer: but in spite of that they was always up before us with breakfast ready and waiting the next morning :bow: ?bet their glad we've gone?. We found every thing reasonable priced I e meals, booze & fags etc. We had a bit of difficulty navigating; the road signs just appear to direct you to the next village and no more.
Rob tried that old prank of going up the motorway slip road the wrong way :blush: , but it?s not that funny any more as he thought he was the first one to come up with it. Julie was chuffed with her self that she managed to bang her head twice on the upper bed in the B&B (Formula 1 style) in Calais which is quit a feat considering she?s 4ft nothing.
Dawn can remember some of it, but none of the nights; Kev missed the last afternoon & night in Calais due to a cold :puke:Jane was considerate for him and took her self of out with the girls shopping and then on the town with us in the evening.
'Me' well I didn?t put a foot wrong didn?t get us lost once :rolleyes: .

Glad you had a good time...

Jan & I will pass on your best to Andre & Marie when we see them on Monday of next week...

Sorry about the weather though !! Must be honest and say we have booked the sun for the rest of this week, and all next week as well... Dont think there was enough left to cover your holi as well...Sorry:k

Tell Canary, that revenge was taken on me last week, when I saw a yellow VFR with two peeps that looked exactly like them in black & yellow gear... Went running up to them shouting & waving hello... When I realised suddently it wasnt them.....:blush: :blush: :blush: Oooops !!! Luckily they understood when I explained it to them... Nice peeps they were... Probably left wondering about insane/mentally deranged truckdrivers :}

Best wishes,

Rolfy

Hi ya
When you see andre ask him about the pub with steak dinners, you must have one, its the best we've ever had. I don't know if you've been to germany before but the people in the village of rupernshofen are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. Andre & marrie are very nice people as you will find out. Its a pitty the weather let us down as the roads out there are the best, enjoy. I don't know if you two are into wild life, if you are, there's eagles, red kites, buzzards,wild pig, deers, the list goes on its great. say hi to Andre & Marrie for me, tell them we did get home safe but wet.
Cheers
Rob & Julie
