Just back from completing the John O Groats to Lands End run on Friday - 1000 miles 24 hrs! Although bearing in mind we all started from Belfast, we have done @2000 miles since Thursday! Ride was great, hell of an experience, bike fantastic, did not miss a beat the whole trip. Two BMW's (GS and K1200), one tiger and my Bird - the oldest bike there by about 10 years!! Weather fine through Scotland, but worst weather I have ever ridden in from the Borders to Preston area. During the course of the trip, I saw a lot of Birds on the other carriageway - shout out if it was anyone here! Very sore shoulders, left arm and arse, but I didn't fork out for a custom seat so was stock all the way!

Journey's End!

The trusty steed at the end of the run (although we still had 400+ miles to get back to Belfast via Holyhead and Dun Loaghaire!)

Last week I did Luxembourg to Tenby West Wales in one hit

1000kms - only stopping for fuel - water intake - piss

Started at 5.30am - made the 12.30 ferry at Calais and .......

Rolled into Tenby at 19.15 having completed last 2 hours in pouring rain with a bald front tyre [the rubber had been deposited on the hairpins in Switzerland]

and THAT little excursion was on a thats well known Honda Touring Motorbike

Tis all true Stanlee - cracking trip but fook it is expensive in Europe now with the exchange rate vs Sterling

?7 for a large beer?

?12 for two coffee's and two glasses [not bottles] of mineral water that I suspect came out the cold water tap!

Congratulations Mate, Riva Bill and myself did a Saddlesore 1000 last year, Great achievment, and raised lots of dosh for My charity ( Haemochromatosis). Our route took us from Gosport in Hampshire to Exeter - Glasgow - Edinburgh - Berwick on Tweed - Newcastle - Northampton and back to Gosport, took 17 hours and 25 of us took part, What a Buzz!

Well done all.

However, real men do endurance in The 30 Club - or at least they used to until it came to a natural conclusion about 10 years ago - by riding South in March until an air temperature of 30 degrees is reached. The furthest they had to go was Morocco.

Oh, nearly forgot to mention......this was on pedal cycles (albeit top notch racing bikes):bow::bow:
