I thought you fingers were brown from smoking cigarettes, but now I know it's from stirring shit.

I was down in Cornwall for a week and I was going to go to a Tesco for cheap fuel when passing through a village I found a small place with a Spar attached. At 109.7p for diesel I soon changed my mind and brimmed the tank for the trip home 2 days later. To put it in context, a rural station nr St Ives is somehow 6p cheaper than a big supermarket one in Wakey and we're cheaper than some places round here. Oh and I managed to get a selection of Cornish bottled beers at a very reasonable price too.

I paid 93p a litre a couple of weeks ago in Germany. Then 114.8 in Switzerland , 109.0 in France, then in Italy 133.7 puts it more in context where fuel is expensive. Petrol in all these countries is much more than diesel. E85 is plentiful in France and around 50p a litre - but what runs on it?
