What happens if accused person hasn't got their licence in court for endorsement.

Just gets done electronically... which in turn will show up if stopped as it’ll be in the database. Counterparts are non existent nowadays.

It is not an issue as we no longer have the paper counterpart.

Its not like the old days when the paper licence or counterpart got sent to Swansea for endorsement or one of the clerks of the court did the scribbling, now it is all electronic so no big deal.

So what happens if you still have an old paper licence?
Your details will still be electronically processed and added to a database. No one would trust a paper licence these days. Hence the gov.uk codes that you get when you want to hire a car

We're light years behind.
Big problem of people not submitting licence at court to have points recorded.

New licence is like a credit card but no data on it.

Just hired a car in Merkin-land with my paper licence, with no problem, and without the DVLA code.

The old part 3 licence (paper licence) is still valid and most hire companies have access to the DVLA database. It is usually just a slower process then with a photo licence.

No, it’s the over 3500kg driving entitlement that has to be applied to retain once we reach 70.
