Most autobahn is two lane. It can be scary at 150 plus when a caravan or truck pulls out in your path. Choose a quiet stretch to stretch the bikes legs.

Clueless in most things
Don't forget, even on the unlimited sections, plod can still step in if you are riding like a twat

I hope to just find a stretch to red line all gears and top end it !

Think I might leave for now as lots to find out beforehand, might just do Scotland on first trip out !

Umm as much as I admire your enthusiasm I think you should have a go at a little planning first.

More like "will" planning for the speeds I'm hoping to do !
Hopefully not too many idiots on the road !

And when you’re going for it, make sure you’ve got your dipped headlights on, let’s people know in the distance you’re approaching at speed..kind of an unwritten rule there.

My headlight is always on when I ride !! (Dipped beam)
But also on the x-6 blackbird it doesn't have a on/off for the lights ! Ha ha

That'll add to the fun when you reg/rec and/or generator and/or battery fry.

Ha ha!

:D

In all seriousness it is a straight swap to first The on/off switch from an earlier Bird, literally plugs in.

Ok just to clear up some things people have said ...its an 08 registered x-6 blackbird 12700 on the clock so if these things occur hopefully would be a bit later on .. I cant carry a whole new bike in spares !
P.s I know someone with an x2 with 49k that's never had any issues !

Having spoken to you last night I was kept wondering why you have the desire to get on a public road and see how fast you can go. The majority of the 2 lane unrestricted autobahns tend to be quite congested. The 3 lane roads (correct me if I’m now wrong) are all subject to the blanket 130kph top speed. Also, German cops are always on the lookout for irresponsible use of the roads, it’s not a simple case of turn up and rag it.

Have you considered attending a top speed meeting, have a look for Straightliners, mostly held at Elvington Yorkshire, but maybe there are now events held again at RAF Woodbridge not too far from you. I’ve not attended any for 10 years since I retired from racing.

As a long time land speed racer myself I’d consider this to be the safest way to enjoy high speeds. Like any form of motorsport it’s not free of danger, however it’s possible to have high speed incidents without the likelihood of getting rearranged by the arse end of a 40 tonne truck. I crashed at Woodbridge 2009 at 192mph according to the timing lights I demolished - I walked to the ambulance practically unscathed, the bike was totally totalled completely, 2 weeks before a road trip to Spain. Oops, better buy another quickly.

If you go to Scotland then be aware that the police in Strathclyde and Fife are extremely hot on speeding.
Stirlingshire police operate unmarked bikes between Callander and Tyndrum (A84/85/82 roads). You'll see the signs....

It's not all about the speed but also seeing/visiting the country.
If I get the chance to go faster than we can here all the better.
