We get our meals, carry them to the van and eat / drink in the van before pulling out.

For me ( and thousands like me who have the shakes and have done all my life ) a lid is essential

It's the people who eat drive and drink.
I have tea in the car but never take a lid.
Luckily I don't need to.

I know a case of somebody who used to eat cornflakes while driving to work, mainly in rural roads.
