I hereby declare this to be National Don't Say "Should Of" when it's meant to be "Should Have" Day.

I've seen it once too often this morning already and it gets on my feckin' wick.

Rant over...for now. :D

I wish you had told numerous secretaries that worked for me this information in such forceful and manly style. Would have saved many documents having to be edited.

Another one that gets my blood boiling is 'enamoured with' rather than the correct 'enamoured of'.

And 'at this moment in time'. What's that all about?

I thought "enamoured with" is an acceptable alternative to "enamoured of"....?

I tried to explain the real meaning of "enamoured by" to someone once. Almost led to blows....

"Going forward" would be one of my top 3 pet phrases in meetings. Who the hell would ever say "...and going backwards..."..?

I dislike most 'office speak', having had to put up with the crap for several years

Blue sky thinking, out of the box, and one I have not heard elsewhere but was a favorite of the HR department, 'linear forward motion'

"Lets run the idea up the flagpole and see who salutes" Worst I ever heard. Laughter finished off the meeting.

'Lets pick the straw doll to pieces & see what falls out'

Talking to one of my colleagues 20 minutes ago. He couldn't see why I just rolled my eyes & walked away.

One of my great achievements during my glorious career was to get German IT developers to normalise the use of the phrases 'it's like trying to nail a jelly to the ceiling', 'we need to talk about the elephant in the room' and 'it's like turkeys voting for christmas' into technical discussions. Regardless of what language they were conversing in.
