Took 3 bin bags containing off cuts of wood to the local, tip and was charged £4.50 what annoys me is that the off cuts would have fitted in one bag but would have been too heavy for me to lift and to really rub it in someone was getting rid of kitchen units and work tops but wasn't charged anything

Had a McDonald’s breakfast :yikes: way too salty can still taste it 6 hours later. Coffee was pretty good though.

installed a temporary plastic MK light switch to replace a broken toggle type at son’s house. Exactly the same switch was £4.99 in Robert Dyad, £4.49 in the pound shop (?) and £1.49 in Wilco.

Lunricated sons front door mortise lock…..couldn’t get any graphite powder in the shopping centre, the pencil trick didn’t work so resorted to WD40, far from ideal at least it opens now without thinking the key will break. Will be filing down the female bit next time i go over as no adjustment possible.

decided Oak Furnitureland are money grabbers the same as everyone else. Ordered eight dining room chairs to replace those lost in the flood, three delivery options costing £6.99, £60 or £90. We only needed the £6.99 option which was only avaialble for one day late in July which was fine. We now get an email saying they are ‘excited’ to bring the delivery forward free of charge to pretty much any day we want….now call me cynical……

Asked the insurance company for a settlement figure to pay us to take responsibility for the reinstatement works….almost three months in now and we still haven’t got a start date and I can’t see us getting one any time soon.

Went to Haynes Motor museum for a bike auction. I kept my hands down despite itching to bid for about 4 bikes, including a Hesketh, a Norvin and a SanSouPap - not Chinese, it was one of only 2 known French bikes with a 500cc Mag Swiss engine.D5D65100-5989-4C9D-81EB-30DD65722452.jpg
