Used to go to the hut myself sometimes, mainly to meet up with my cousin Sue on her Ducati.. that would have been about 10 years ago now since I last went :)
It's still a popular meet place with a nice array of bikes every Sunday afternoon. Been there since the 1920s I'm told, there used to be a speedway track nearby but now totally overgrown by forest. Worth a look for a cuppa and bacon roll if anyone ever pops down to London.

The first time I went there would have been 1966 !
'My' cafe was the Beach Comber at Upminster Bridge, and then the Musketeer in Ilford, but te Sunday morning meets were usually at Epping
Back then it was used by bikers, lorry drivers and cabbies

Hi fellow bird owners/riders. Just signed up yesterday. I've had 3 birds in the past and an x-11. I was in the old forum back in the day. I've had many, many different bikes in the past. Singles, twins, v4s but I still keep coming back to the bird so bought one on Sunday. 1999fi, used to be red but now black, 64k miles with many things wrong with it. It's a project bike for me so looking forward to getting it sorted and on the road. It was £500 and the seller rode it to my house. No mot etc but it'll keep me occupied. I'll post as I repair and if ( probably when) I run into problems I'll be in touch.

I gave it a quick once over before putting a cover over it, rear tyre, cct, maybe a cam chain, blowing out the exhaust somewhere, bodywork is rough but doesn't look damaged, except for the front guard( it's cracked on both sides where a fenda extenda has been screwed in) all the wrong bolts around the screen, plastic infill parts are possibly cracked. I'll get a good look at it, get the fairings off and make a list of what needs done. Not today, hailstones just now and 1°c

Welcome.

Don't profess to liking Dacia Duster or BMWs.
Never show pictures with any background, especially if the garden, driveway or garage is anything other than spotless.
You will soon be told that Beige, Red, Blue, Black or rust coloured are all the fastest/slowest/bestest/worstest of all time.

Only post for help in the help forum or get ruthlessly shafted ( unless that’s your thing ;) )

It would be a rare thing indeed if the cam chain needed replacing. As you highlight, the CCT is Definetely a service item in the Bird (maybe 30k on the original, JAWS uprated last longer).

You will do well to repair the mudguard although plastic welding might sort it. A new OEM one is expensive as are all the plastics.

Sounds like a cheap Chinese knock off body kit may be the way to go? Some have reported that they are pretty decent albeit a bit of fettling is needed.

Convert it back to 'RED' A. S. A. P.
it's obviously not happy being black.
By the way, I have a very smart BB jacket for sale, it has helped me no end when fettling my Bird. Oooeer Mrs!

I was looking at a Facebook page of a guy called Paul Manners who seems to be doing a good line in fairings, no idea of price.

I've had two black and a titanium... might go titanium to even up the score. I'll give the jacket a miss if it's all the same to you. Something in the back of my mind about not accepting a jacket from ogr1 !!!

When you say ‘titanium’ I assume you mean ‘beige’?
