Did it several times, riding towards Wakey on A61 saw a group of bikes ahead, caught them & blasted past, three busas & a Ninja. Ten minutes after I arrived at Sherburn they pulled in.

I did say well a well ridden gixer ;)

To be brutally honest try riding a well set up k1-k2 good and hard and you are going to end up either dead or a couple of miles down the road from any bird, honestly its like night and day .... as good as birds are they are not very powerful take an age to respond by comparison and not particularly fast at getting to the top end early gsxr1000's are like a lightswitch and are very capable of scaring the living shite out of you anywhere any time, tame the beast (ie get the power down) and a bird is history, no way can it compete on the straights or the corners

Been there and done that with both bikes so have a damn good idea of what I am on about .... long ride and a bit of comfort pick the bird, brain engaged and wanna go properly fast the gixer wins hands down
