Just watched the news. On one hand they are slagging off the government for not closing travel to and from various countries soon enough, on the other hand they are slagging off the government for closing down travel to and from Portugal.

And some knob representing the travel industry (his words) says the government are determined to destroy the travel industry. Why would they, or indeed anyone, want to do that?

And yet the CEO of the second biggest travel agent in the uk says they haven’t been taking bookings for months as they didn’t want the hassle of sorting it all out when travel was always likely to be restricted to and from different places at different times. One measured approach in a cacophony (good word that) of self interest from someone who actually appears to have been listening, absorbing and understanding (as far as anyone can) as this horrible pandemic has and continues to develop.

I see Bojo hasn't ruled out an overseas holiday for himself and his witch, though.

Clearly the floppy haired twat isn't familiar with the phrase "lead by example".

They both speak highly of you.

I am not aware of what Boris has said but, Out of interest, why shouldn’t the PM go on an overseas holiday providing it is within the rules?

Seems to me like he can’t win either way - if he said he wouldn’t take an overseas holiday he would be accused of not supporting the travel industry and economy.

As I say…going down that route he will be accused of not supporting the international travel industry/airlines - this is exactly the sort of loaded question that today’s so called journalists ask as it will always give them a story as it is designed to trip up whatever answer is given.

sorry you find my challenge, er, challenging, I simply think that the bigger picture is frequently (and often deliberately) overlooked by journalists who have the sole intention of creating news rather than reporting it.

And it is all too easy to attack someone who is in a senior position having to make really, really difficult decisions, often when none of the options are good ones, sadly something that has been all too frequent in this pandemic.

What Beaks said.

There’s nothing wrong with going overseas on holiday as long as the correct protocols are followed.

On the basis that Pow-Lo is supporting me I am clearly going to have to review my position on this.

He wanted the big seat, he got it..... now he should man up and lead this country properly. As most people have made sacrifices of some sort or another, I'm sure Bojo can do likewise and forgo his all expenses paid holiday abroad while he tries to steer this country back to some semblance of normality.

Sadly, as far as I can see, from waaaaaaaay down here in the cheap seats, he's being led by the nose by anyone who has his ear and has opinion, an axe to grind or an ulterior and dare I say it, nefarious motive. And that includes Princess Nut Nut.

I've mentioned before that I've been a lifelong Tory voter, but I see nothing in this man that fills me with any confidence. I certainly would not vote for him based on his current track record.

It's nothing to do with the safety aspect, it's the principle. Grand holiday AFTER you've set this country back on the road to recovery. Otherwise a weekend in a caravan in Skegness is all I'm prepared to sanction.

I agree with you, I have zero interest in going abroad at the moment and certainly for the rest of 2021. Although I am just about to book a break on The Isle of Wight :risas3:

But it is permissible to do go abroad within guidelines, whether we agree with it or not.

I have zero sympathy for those that choose to holiday overseas and get caught out by rule changes when they are away. If they didn’t accept the risk that’s their problem.

While I wasn’t sure about Boris to start with - I always said I would like to have a pint with him but not have him as PM - my personal opinion is that he has done a bloody good job overall in the most difficult circumstances. I am sure mistakes will have been made and will be endlessly dwelt upon by those with 20:20 hindsight. The only real mistakes he has made in my eyes is coming back way too early from his bout of COVID-19 as he obviously wasn’t well and, with me applying 20:20 hindsight :sisi1 , sticking up for Cummings who has shown his true narcissistic character since being shown the door.

Cant help thinking ………..where we would be now if Corbyn had got in…..:eeeeek:

Maybe, maybe not. Having probably the toughest post-war PM's position, I would sanction a little more than a few days in Skeggy.

BTW, who's Princess Nut Nut?
