I was one those who said I will NOT be having the jab.. But I have now changed my mind... next problem is trying to convince woman !
Poor cow has had, over her life time, more than a passing acquaintance with hospitals and indeed surgical operations.. Yet she feels strongly about the jab...

As an aside, some of you may remember a post I made last year... canna remember the details but the gist of it was that if or when a vaccine was deceloped, it may well turn out that it would be a yearly thing same as the flu jab..
Guess wat was said yesterday !!!

We'll see what happens but I won't be rushing to have one any time soon. Unfortunately, given the nature of my job I may well be in a position where I have to have the jab in order to travel.
A couple of weeks ago the wife was told that, due to her penicillin allergy, she won't get the current vaccine but will get the next one (when available).
Now she's been told by the surgery she works for that it's now OK for her to have it (and she'll be getting it on Friday).

Between that turn around and the one about now waiting up to 12 weeks before having the 2nd jab, is it any wonder folk are losing faith in the so called experts.

I can't have the flu jab because it's cultivated in eggs. I don't need it anyway because I'm not at risk from flu, which might be surprising given my respiratory issues (but they're allergic reactions). I have to have yellow fever and that also contains egg or is cultivated in it or something and that's caused me major discomfort on the three occasions I've had to have it. Fortunately, it's now a 'life' jab so I don't need another.

I hear you on losing faith re the so-called experts and it's difficult to know what and who to believe. It's another reason why I got cross with Minkey's post above. It's all well and good shouting from the roof tops that we should all have it but I'm pretty sure quite a few people would lose their sense of humour if a generation of kids were born with three heads or something. I accept that's stretching it, fair enough, but what if it was something more plausible like kids being born autistic or something?

To be honest, by the time it's my turn for the jab (which is eons after Poo-Plop will get offered it :D) I may not need to have it because covid will have mutated to a strain that is no worserer than flu.

Oh.... and I don't think many people over 50 will be having kids, so there is no need to worry about children being born with autism or anything.

There’s a 99% survival rate from contracting Covid, so it’s arguable that it’s no worserer than flu as it is.

The choice would be removed if the side effects were to render people sterile.

Whilst the video is funny, and twats like “Trish” require firm placement in their boxes and the lids nailing shut, vaccines (or injected drugs) almost always come with side effects. Now, this can be something as innocuous as feeling like shit for 12 hours afterwards, which is obviously nothing to worry about. However, let’s not forget Thalidomide and MMR.

Dunno why you edited your answer Andy... valid response I thought ...
Can't really remember what I said but I was tired and not in the mood for a ruck!

Probably something along the lines of 'everyone is entitled to their opinion but those on both sides of the fence should stick to facts rather than unsubstantiated rumour/conspiracy theory and i for one will challenge any complete total bollocks on here or anywhere else particularly if it undermines the amazing national effort going into delivering a remarkable programme to put vaccine into the arms of those that want it'.

But I might be wrong.:)

I was tired though, didn't wake up until 8:45 this morning, absolutely unheard of.

Do you seriously expect us to believe that you never went out on a bender, got completely clattered, woke up face down on your bed, partly-clothed with your trollies around your ankles and a kebab smeared across your face after 0845? Not once? Ever?

Ok, so we've established that it's not absolutely unheard of for you to wake up after 0845. Good. My day is fulfilled and it's not even lunchtime (y)
